The Japanese SUV Mazda CX-5 welcomes a new limited edition Kuro Edition on its 150 hp diesel. The equipment is progressing, as is the price… reducing the customer advantage to a few hundred euros. Explanations.
In Japanese, Kuro means black. A nod to the specific “Black Mat” color of the rims of the new CX-5 Kuro Edition , but not to that of its bodywork: metallic gray in the presentation photos, the Japanese SUV can be purchased in each of the nine colors available in the catalog. In addition to the dedicated rims, this special series comes standard with the motorized tailgate, and a pack of accessories mounted at the port of Antwerp, in Belgium, where the CX-5s produced in Ujina, Japan arrive by boat .
Beyond the Kuro badges on the bodywork, the dashboard strip and the key ring, this CX-5 receives an aluminum pedals, illuminated door sills “CX-5” and an interior lighting package LED. What enhance its perceived quality, but also its price: € 37,300 in 2.2 diesel 150 BVM (or € 39,300 with automatic transmission), or € 1,500 more than the Dynamic CX-5 on which this Kuro series is based Edition (see detailed equipment of the CX-5).
Customer advantage? € 580 , taking into account additional equipment and labor for mounting accessories (estimated at € 2,080 by Mazda). On arrival, a meager gift on the final addition, despite the arrival of this version by Christmas: the CX-5 Kuro Edition is already available to order, and visible in dealerships since the beginning of November 2019.
