A year before the official presentation, the new Renault Kangoo is revealed in 3D images which are used for filing patents. Facing the Citroën Berlingo and Peugeot Partner, the utility vehicle at the Rhombus has a secret boot: its side doors without a center leg.
2020 will be the year of utility vehicles at Renault. In battle order, the manufacturer will launch in spring 2020 the Kangoo Express which will be the Renault version of the new Dacia Dokker surprised a few months ago on all Andalusians. The third generation utility version of the Kangoo will follow in the fall, the real one. Sketched by the Kangoo ZE concept in April 2019, it takes shape via 3D images used when filing industrial patents. If certain elements are preserved, in particular the shape of the rear lights, the hood is quite different.
The king of accessibility
The Kangoo 3 will get a facelift but not only. Technically, it will use the recent CMF/C platform (that of the Megane) modified at the rear axle to support the load. In addition to the 1.0 and 1.3 TCe in petrol (depending on the market), we will find the 1.5 Blue dCi diesel and the electric version ZE The latter will be competed in 2021 by the Citroën e-Berlingo and Peugeot e-Partner. But the major innovation of the Renault Kangoo and its cousin, the Mercedes Citan, will be the opening of the side doors without a center leg. An architecture known on the Ford B-Max but which is unprecedented in the utility segment. It will offer better accessibility and storage tips for professionals, especially for tools.
